The mci group is a global next-gen platform for marketing innovation and breakthrough communication in the digital age. Their platform combines the talent, technology and creative power of our global agency network to transform brands and organisations.

Goal:

In recognition of our expertise in promoting mental wellbeing in the workplace, (LBTS) was invited by MCI to participate in their Mental Health month. MCI's initiative focused on four critical pillars: Reload, Balance, Connect, and Health, with LBTS selected to lead the final pillar. With an increasing number of mental wellbeing issues such as depression and burnout being reported in the organization, MCI recognized the need for expert guidance on how to prevent these cases from escalating

LBTS’s contribution:

LBTS was tasked with leading a critical conversation about mental wellbeing, sharing personal stories, and providing managers with expert guidance on the do's and don'ts in the workplace. Drawing on their wealth of knowledge and experience, LBTS provided valuable insights and training to raise awareness of the critical importance of mental health and wellness in the workplace. The presentations were tailored to different levels of the organization, including C-level executives and managers, with a focus on advancing the cause of mental wellness in the workplace.

Benefit for MCI Global (& the Netherlands) :

The comprehensive training provided by our organization not only facilitated a deeper understanding of mental health amongst all participating employees but also furnished them with a comprehensive set of skills and tools that can be utilized to assist themselves or their colleagues in times of need. As part of the program, we dispelled misconceptions around topics like burnout and depression, thereby enabling employees to initiate conversations around issues they were already familiar with.

By promoting open dialogue and creating a supportive culture around mental wellbeing, our training was a critical first step in fostering a safer and healthier work environment. The initiative has been widely praised for its impact on employees' mental health and wellbeing, and we remain committed to continuing our efforts towards promoting mental health awareness in organizational settings.

EVBox believes in the power of electric mobility to transform transportation and enable a clean energy future. Their mission is to empower society to embrace electric mobility with their complete electric vehicle charging ecosystem.

Goal:

EVBox recognized the importance of prioritizing the mental health and wellbeing of their employees. As part of this initiative, they invited us to host a comprehensive discussion on mental health in the workplace for their employees. LBTS delved into various topics such as mental illness, expectations, and the critical importance of setting boundaries, empathy skills, and managerial insights. The discussion was aimed at providing the attendees with practical solutions and options for dealing with real-life situations related to mental health.

LBTS’s contribution:

LBTS had the honor of hosting a public talk for EVBox, where we delved into a range of topics surrounding mental health in the workplace. We began by sharing our own experiences and providing an overview of the societal stigma that surrounds mental illness. From there, we discussed the reality behind mental illness and the expectations placed on individuals by others. We also spoke about the value of openness, awareness, and progress, as well as the experiences of depression and anxiety in the workplace, including how managers and coworkers can support those who are struggling.

To make the talk more meaningful, we made sure to figure out what topics and issues were currently playing a role in the lives of the attendees. We then connected these issues to real-life situations and provided solutions and options for handling and dealing with them. We also delved into topics such as setting boundaries, taking care of oneself, and seeking help, as well as how to open up about mental health and deal with negative comments.

We also acknowledged the unique challenges that managers face when it comes to supporting employees with mental health issues. Therefore, we dedicated a portion of the talk to helping managers understand their responsibilities (as well as what they are not responsible for), the process of guiding someone with mental health problems, empathy skills, and the do's and don'ts of managing frustrations, deadlines, and workloads.

Benefit for EVBox:

The Let's Break the Shame discussion at EVBox proved to be a tremendous success, providing invaluable insights into the recognition and prevention of stress in both individuals and coworkers. These learnings have not only helped to foster a culture of employee wellbeing at EVBox, but have also prompted the organization to reflect on their current mental health policies. The discussion was instrumental in kickstarting a dialogue amongst employees, normalizing the conversation around wellbeing and establishing a strong foundation for future growth in this critical area.

Additionally, the session included a valuable discussion with one of Vodafone's HR managers, who shared insights into the company's practices and policies related to employee wellbeing. We emphasized the importance of providing employees with resources and support to maintain their mental and physical health, including access to counseling, mental health days, and flexible work arrangements.

Finally, the session addressed the strengths of people with mental illness, emphasizing the unique skills and perspectives they can bring to the workplace. The speakers highlighted examples of successful individuals who have thrived in their careers despite mental health challenges and emphasized the need for companies to create a more inclusive work environment that values the contributions of all employees, regardless of their background or abilities.

Benefit for Vodafone (& the Netherlands)

Specifically, the session inspired employees to:

  • Be more mindful of their own mental health and wellbeing, and prioritize self-care in their daily routines.
  • Take steps to create a more inclusive work environment by being more respectful and accepting of differences, and advocating for policies and practices that support all employees.
  • Encourage open dialogue and communication about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, reducing stigma and creating a culture of support and understanding.

Overall, the session helped to build a more positive and supportive work environment at Vodafone, where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to be their best selves. This, in turn, leads to improved productivity, engagement, and job satisfaction, benefiting both the employees and the company as a whole.
